Van Gothner has had a three-decade merchant banking career focused on smaller and mid-sized companies experiencing rapid growth. He has worked independently through his own firm Adirondack Partners and earlier in his career for major multinational financial service organizations, including Kleinwort Benson Ltd. and Barclays. His activities have included long-term advisory and board level engagement. Van has served as the chairman & CEO of an international agri-business with operations in the U.S. and China, where he led the company during a period of crisis. Recently he led a group in purchasing the nation’s largest processor of certified organic beef, where he serves as a strategic advisor. Currently Van, together with his co-founder, are building Space for Arts, as disruptive marketplace platform that’s solving one of the biggest problems for photo and video production professionals: finding and booking photo studios for high-end photo shoots while simplifying a the industry’s booking practices. Van has a BA and a MIA from Columbia.
